AMAN CENTER IS A MEMBER OF THE CHILD PROTECTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE


A delegation from the Qatar Foundation for Social Work participated in the conference on social, educational and psychological protection of children, which was held in the State of Kuwait from February 12-14 under the patronage of the Minister of Information and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs.

The conference announced the inclusion of the Aman Center in the membership of the Advisory Committee of the International Organization For Child Protection. This is the second international organization in which the Aman Center has obtained membership, as the Center was elected in November of 2018 to be the regional representative for the Middle East for membership in the International Organization of Child Helplines, which It includes 181 members from 147 countries and holds consultative status from the United Nations.

The Children's Conference is the first conference of the World Organization for Child Protection, which was established in 2014. It is an organization based in Brussels and has branches in several countries and is concerned with child protection in accordance with international principles and norms.


The Foundation presented the achievements of civil society organizations in the State of Qatar in a session entitled The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Child Protection in the State of Qatar. Mr. Mansour Al-Saadi, Executive Director of the Aman Center and Regional Representative for the Middle East of the International Organization of Child Helplines, also participated in a working paper entitled The Role of the Hotline in Child protection.


The participants praised the efforts of the State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, and the achievements made by the centers under its umbrella, especially in the field of children. The Foundation’s delegation also participated in general discussions and responded to inquiries, as well as drafting recommendations and the final statement of the conference.

The Foundation’s delegation also included Mr.Fahd Al-Mohammadi from the Dreama Centre, Reem Al-Sindi from the Aman Centre, Mubaraka Al-Kuwari from the Shafallah Centre, and Asma Al-Ansari from the Wefaq Center.
